Business Development & Sales Team Lead

Position Summary 

The Business Development & Sales Team Lead is responsible for developing and expanding new business opportunities within allocated account(s) to include developing and overseeing the sales strategy, leads generation and managing the sales process and coordinating with relevant stakeholders and internal parties to ensure client satisfaction. 


The incumbent will work closely with the Global Head of BD and Founder to implement strategic market access and expansion plans, driving the company’s business and increasing its revenue. Key scope includes identifying and developing new business opportunities, leading of sales funnel, tracking of emerging trends, recommends new products and services, proposes and develops new proposals and plans, and building up the regional brand presence of the company with the support of the team.


The focus will be on APAC countries and therefore the position is to be based in Singapore. 


Key Responsibilities

    • In conjunction with the Global Head of Business Development, develop and maintain a plan for the expansion of business in prioritised markets and lead strategic client accounts.
    • Lead, appraise and manage the BD, Sales & Marketing teams assigned.
    • Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies and plans, from client needs assessment to presenting sales proposal, price and contract negotiations.
    • Proactively identify new business opportunities, sales leads with the vision of increasing revenue for the company.
    • Build market presence and establish profitable business alliances.
    • Work closely with the Global Head of Business Development to ensure continuity of messages to clients and provide guidance to team members to resolve client issues and questions.
    • Identify and respond to client needs in order to define potential opportunities. Ensure appropriate strategy and solution is proposed to the client.
    • Collaborate with Marketing department on all marketing/advertising activities to manage launches seamlessly into international markets.

Decision Making Authority

    • Responsible for directing the BD, Sales and Marketing team in project planning, business proposals and feasibility report write up.
    • Staff performance appraisal reports.

Education & Qualification

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or in a related field. A higher level degree (Master or PhD, MBA) in any of these will be a plus.

Work Experience

    •  Minimum 5 years of experience of demonstrable competency in sales or business development in the APAC region.
    • Proven track record of identifying and securing profitable deals for the company.
    • Experience in developing new business opportunities.
    • Experience in leading teams to achieve identified goals of the company.

Technical / Professional Skills

    • Demonstrated track records in client relationship building, sales and negotiation skills.
    • Proactive attitude and drive to develop senior level business relationships.
    • Strong initiatives , critical thinking and apply analytical approach to business.
    • Responsive and strong customer focus, with the ability to find creative solutions to meet customers’ needs.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to convey information in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
    • Result orientation and an ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent planning/organisational skills and ability to prioritise and multitask.
    • Demonstrate professionalism and represent the Company in line with its Vision and Mission Statements.
    • Skilled in preparing and executing presentations for external stakeholders.
    • Fluent written and spoken English language skills; Mandarin and other languages are a strong plus.
